| Mr. William T. Hoston, ABD, has been a member of TMG since 1999. He is a tireless worker for the advancement, development, and leadership of youth, especially African American Males, and underdeveloped communities in the US. Mr. Hoston has been a member of the Faculty in Criminology and Political Science at some of the major research Universities including 1) the University of New Orleans, Department of Political Science; 2) Dillard University, Division of Social Science; 3) Xavier University of Louisiana, College of Arts and Sciences; 4) North Carolina State University, Department of Sociology and Anthropology; 5) Juvenile Justice Staff and Curriculum Project, Department of Education w/ Florida State University; 6) Florida A&M University, Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice; and 7) The Florida State University, School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and the Juvenile Justice Role Model Development Program, and the School of Criminology at Florida State University. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Northwestern State University. Mr. Hoston's fields of interest and research are American Government, African-American Politics; State and Local Government, Legislative Process; American Presidency, & Political Methodology. Mr. Hoston is a Candidate for the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the UNiversity of New Orleans. His dissertation topic, The Louisiana Black Caucus: The Influence of Black Legislators in the Louisiana General Assembly, examines the scope and nature of black representation in the Louisiana state legislature. Ultimately, this dissertation will ascertain information that will determine if the growth in African-American representation in the Louisiana General Assembly has had a definitive impact on the political incorporation and legislative productivity of these legislators. Mr. Hoston also has a Master of Science in Criminology from FSU, and a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of New Orleans. Mr. Hoston has been a major force in the paradigm shift from Rap Music and Rap Culture as a detriment to American culture to one of positive influence and impact. His presentations have been used to motivate and inspire numerous young and impressionable men to examine their values, actions, and contributions to society. Mr. Hoston is an outstanding speaker, prolific poet, and has presented to National and Regional television, conference, workshop, and seminar audiences. Some of his presentation topics include: The Divide Between Black Men and Women, Cultural Awareness, and The African-American Family.
