| Dr. Wytress U. Richardson possesses approximately 16 years of organizational leadership experience. She is currently the Director of the Intensive Rehabilitation Department with The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center in Chicago, IL. She manages a team of 10 staff members, including professionals and para-professionals. The department, under her leadership, provides substance abuse and mental health counseling to an average of 30 individuals on a monthly basis. Dr. Richardson has held progressively responsible positions that have allowed her to identify issues and achieve or exceed organizational goals by implementing positive leadership techniques. She has incorporated these techniques of leadership in her professional as well as personal life.
Dr. Richardson possesses State Certification as a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counselor. She is certified as a Crisis Intervention Specialist, Rape Counselor, Domestic Violence Counselor, and a Critical Incident Stress Management Specialist. She also serves as a member of the Faculty at National Louis University where she has taught various Management, Leadership, Communication, Ethics, and Cultural Diversity courses.
Dr. Richardson is a role model and mentor for the City of Chicago “We Care” Mentoring Program. She specializes in leadership programs for profit and non-for-profit organizations providing workshops in the areas of Organizational Communication and Leadership, Stress Management, and Substance Abuse in the Work Place.
Dr. Richardson completed her Dissertation and Doctoral degree requirements in September 2006 and earned her Doctor of Education degree at Argosy University Chicago. She completed research on the effects of stress on the executive leadership responsibilities of Women of Color. She is in the process of publishing her research. Dr. Richardson received her Masters of Science degree from Spertus College in Human Services Administration. She completed her undergraduate studies with honors from National Louis University in Behavioral Science. In her spare time, Dr. Richardson is a wife and the mother of two beautiful daughters. She is a dedicated advocate for girls and women as leaders and, as a dynamic speaker. She is commited to developing communities through proactive mentoring and service.
